Heartbreak at the Liberty Stadium! Swansea City were left stunned as Southampton clinched a dramatic 2-1 victory, courtesy of a last-gasp winner by Cameron Archer.

The Swans started strong, taking the lead in the 20th minute through Marko Stamenic. A promising move from a throw-in saw Eom Ji-sung deliver a fabulous cross that ended up with Stamenic netting his third of the season. Although the first half saw its share of yellow cards, no more goals followed before the break.

After half-time, Saints came back with renewed intensity. Substitute Shea Charles connected with a cross in the 57th minute, bringing the visitors level. Swansea defended valiantly, with keeper Lawrence Vigouroux pulling off some impressive saves. But as the game edged towards a draw, Southampton’s persistence paid off.

In the 90th minute, Archer smashed home the winner from a Caspar Jander cross, despite Jay Fulton’s best efforts to block. The result sees Swansea slip to 15th in the table, while Southampton bolster their chase for the top as they continue their blistering winning streak.
Tensions ran high throughout, with players from both sides shown cards and a penalty appeal by Southampton waved away. Despite their bright start, Swansea couldn’t capitalise and were ultimately undone by Saints’ late surge.
