Meet Kevin Morgan, a man whose life took a devastating turn when his beloved brother, Rob, tragically passed away after collapsing during a routine 10-mile run. Rob, who Kevin saw not just as a brother but as a father figure, left behind a wife, three children, and a stunned, grieving family.

Kevin shares, “We were close growing up despite the age gap. When my dad passed, Rob stepped up. We fought like siblings do, but he was my mentor.” The unexpected nature of Rob’s death hit Kevin hard. “He never had heart problems. It’s terrifying because it can happen to anyone, at any age,” Kevin reflects.

Initially, the loss made Kevin give up running altogether, shadowed by the fear of losing something he loved. But in time, he found his way back, realising it was what Rob would’ve wanted. This led him to take on an epic challenge in Rob’s memory: the Beacons Way Ultra. This formidable 100km race through mountainous Welsh terrain is no small feat, but it provides Kevin a way to remember Rob’s strength and spirit.

Balancing this gruelling training with work and family life, Kevin’s determination shines through. “Running three times a week, gym sessions, building up to long runs—it’s tough but worth it,” he admits. Alongside this personal challenge, Kevin is raising both awareness for sudden cardiac arrest and funds for the British Heart Foundation. His GoFundMe page has already raised over £1,093, with generosity pouring in from all corners, even from strangers overseas.

Kevin hopes to make a difference, urging that “the work of the British Heart Foundation—CPR training, defibrillator access—is vital for everyone.”

🌟 Completing this race is more than a physical challenge; it’s about honouring his brother’s legacy and pushing personal boundaries. “If I can do this at 45, I’ll feel like I’ve achieved something massive in Rob’s memory,” Kevin says.

Join Kevin’s journey and support a meaningful cause. Every step counts. 🏃‍♂️❤️
