🏉 What a match! Brecon Athletic have triumphed yet again, securing the WRU Division 5 Cup with a stunning 49-5 victory over Bargoed Athletic at the iconic Principality Stadium. 🎉
The spotlight shines once more on Jake Crockett, Brecon’s hometown hero, as he thrilled fans with two spectacular tries. It was a day to remember for the hundreds of Brecon supporters who made the journey to Cardiff for this remarkable victory.
Crockett, who had the crowd on their feet with his impressive performance, shared his joy: “You can’t really put it into words. To do it with local boys from Brecon—it’s special. This isn’t about me; it’s about the team and sharing that moment walking out into a stadium like that.”
Brecon hit the ground running, with Crockett making a brilliant break right from the start. The team’s power and precision were on full display, with tries from Josh Pritchard, Luke Price, Wyn Davies, Tudor Roderick, Hugh Prothero, and Iestyn Phillips adding to the scoreboard.
Despite a late sin-bin incident, Crockett sealed the deal by picking off a pass and dashing across the pitch for his second try, sending Brecon fans into a frenzy of celebration.
As Crockett looks forward to a well-deserved break, he knows the victory is more than just a win—it’s a turning point for the club. “There are some great coaches involved now,” he noted. “We’ve got local lads and young players looking up to them, and this victory means a lot for our future.”
Here’s to Brecon, the players, the fans, and an epic day of rugby! 🏆👏 #RugbyUnion #BreconWins #WRUCupFinal
