🚗🚨 Newport Drivers, Beware! 🚨🚗
Traffic turmoil is unfolding around Newport today, so if you’re heading this way, brace yourself for some serious delays!
There’s been a major incident on the M4 eastbound near junction 26 (Malpas Road) leading to a lane closure and serious congestion all the way back to junction 28 at Tredegar Park. Emergency services are on site, working hard to clear things up, but drivers are advised to steer clear if possible.
⚠️ Heads up for those tackling the road westbound too. Expect slow-moving traffic, especially around the Brynglas Tunnels, with travel time lagging behind by around 20 minutes.
🚶♂️🏃♀️ Adding to the chaos, the Newport Marathon is on today with road closures impacting the city. Usk Way and other routes near the City Bridge are closed till around 7pm, so double-check your travel plans to avoid getting stuck.
🛑 There’s also a broken-down vehicle causing another lane closure at junction 27 (B4591 Glasllwch Crescent).
Remember to allow extra time for your journey and drive safely! Keep an eye on traffic updates to stay ahead of the queue. 🚦📱
Stay patient, stay safe, and remember—it’s better to arrive late than not at all. 🚙💨
