BBC sports legend Sue Barker is rallying behind Dan Walker, the former BBC and Channel 5 presenter, who’s embroiled in some serious allegations. Walker is facing an employment tribunal after claims of sexism, misogyny, and workplace bullying were made by his ex-co-host, Claudia-Liza Vanderpuije. These claims stem from her last year working alongside Walker at Channel 5, where she alleges a toxic culture existed.

Walker, however, is standing firm, denying all allegations with a strong support network. More than 50 colleagues are backing him, ready to present witness statements. Among his defenders is Sue Barker, who praised Walker as “one of the nicest presenters” she’s worked with. Sue said she’s 100% in Walker’s corner, calling him courteous and hardworking.
Claudia-Liza alleges she was the victim of a “sham redundancy” after whistleblowing about the toxic culture inside the newsroom, citing racism and sexism as issues. She claims Channel 5 and ITN tried to cover up these behaviours, breaching the Equality Act 2010.

Dan Walker is attending the tribunal aiming to clear his name. He maintains his innocence, stating past investigations have vindicated him. Claudia-Liza has even reached out to her Instagram followers, inviting them to learn more about her allegations. The saga continues as both sides prepare for what promises to be a tense tribunal battle.
