🎉 Welcome to Welsh Varsity 2026! 🎉
The excitement is palpable as Cardiff transforms into a sea of red and green today! Thousands of students from Cardiff and Swansea Universities are flooding the capital for a thrilling day of sport. 🏅🏆
Having kicked off in 1997, the Varsity is the UK’s largest student sporting event and a much-anticipated highlight in any university calendar. It’s the ultimate battle of the sports titans as these rival universities face off across 30 different disciplines. The day will reach its thrilling peak with the men’s and women’s rugby matches at the iconic Cardiff Arms Park at 3:30pm and 6pm. 🏉🔥
This year, Cardiff is hosting the event for a second time in a row due to Swansea University’s ongoing redevelopment. So, expect to see an enthusiastic turnout as sports fans and students decked out in their team’s colours hit locations like Llanrumney, Talybont, Maindy Velodrome, and Sophia Gardens, amongst others.
