Drama unfolded in Cardiff when Adam Paull, 27, stormed into a woman’s home, demanding £250 he claimed she owed him. In a terrifying ordeal, he threatened to kill her and her dog if she didn’t transfer the money immediately. The victim, Ashleigh Devine, described feeling like she was going to die as she was forced to comply using a banking app.

This shocking incident happened in October last year when Paull arrived unannounced, pushing past a friend at the door to confront Devine in her own bedroom. Frightened and feeling unsafe even at home, she later shared how the attack left her traumatised and constantly on edge.
Paull was arrested the same evening. In court, he admitted to the assault, revealing a history of 14 previous convictions, including battery. The judge handed down a 54-week prison sentence and a 5-year restraining order, hoping to give the victim peace of mind.

The courtroom heard how this attack has left Devine living in fear, constantly vigilant, and struggling with her mental health. It serves as a grim reminder of how quickly a safe haven can become a nightmare. Let’s hope justice brings her some comfort and the courage to rebuild her peace of mind.
