Shocking courtroom revelations unfold as Stefan Ramsden, 34, faces justice for his chilling abuse. Ramsden’s partner lived through terrifying ordeals, fearing for her life as he threatened to crash his car with both of them inside—this, after weeks of physical and psychological torment.

The couple’s relationship, which started in 2022, escalated into horror by December 2023. Ramsden began his campaign of terror by flipping beds, resorting to makeshift blowtorches, and wrecking their home. His behaviour spiralled further on New Year’s Eve, leaving his partner paranoid and fearing constant humiliation.

By spring of the following year, things took an even darker turn. Ramsden violently attacked the victim in front of her friend, continuously manipulating her emotions. Threats to kill himself if she left only added to her nightmare. On one occasion, he brought a container with a yellow liquid, threatening to set them both alight.
In a frightening drive on February 20th, Ramsden took control of both the wheel and her phone, reading messages aloud while punching her. Her cries for help while on the motorway left her friend hearing the terror unfold.
The court heard testimony of Ramsden’s disturbing threats and emotional torment, leaving his partner traumatised. The victim bravely shared the haunting impact of the abuse, highlighting how love was weaponised against her, inducing fear and paranoia.
For his atrocious acts, Ramsden received a five-year prison sentence with an extended licence period. A restraining order now protects the victim indefinitely.
