🏉 From Netball to Rugby Star! 🌟 Meet Freya Bell, the Welsh rugby sensation who only started playing rugby at 16 but is now making strides in the U21 Six Nations Series. Originally dabbling in sports like netball, football, and cricket, Freya found her true passion on the rugby field. Inspired by her brother and dad, she jumped into the sport with both feet and hasn’t looked back.

Freya’s journey kicked off at Horsham RFC in Sussex. By 18, she caught the eye of the Harlequins Centre of Excellence, and soon after, she was representing Wales U20s. Now at Cardiff Met Uni, this fly-half is ready to take on the world in the U21 series.

The Women’s U21 Six Nations Series is heating up, and after a tough start against France, Freya and the Welsh team are gearing up to face Italy. With her grandmother’s Pontypridd roots and a degree in Sport, PE and Health under her belt, Freya is determined to balance her academic and sporting commitments while making a mark on the international stage.

Women’s rugby is experiencing a thrilling surge in popularity. With over 10,500 fans cheering on the team at Cardiff Arms Park and massive crowds at Twickenham, Freya is excited to be part of this growing movement. “It’s amazing to see the increase in support,” she shares. “I used to watch men’s games with my family, but now it’s incredible to see the support for women. It makes you want to be on that pitch!”
