π “The Wildest Try of 2026!” π€―

In a jaw-dropping twist during the Super Rugby clash between the Chiefs and Fijian Drua, fans witnessed what is being hailed as the “wildest try of 2026”!

As the Chiefs pushed forward late in the first half, the Drua’s full-back, Ilaisa Droasese, found himself in his own in-goal area with the ball. Instead of the expected move to dot it down for a goalline dropout, Droasese decided to gamble, launching a grubber kick forward. But here’s the kicker β it never left the in-goal area! π²

Enter stage left: Chiefs’ loosehead prop Jared Proffit, who was right where he needed to be. He capitalised on the chaos, grounding the ball for his first-ever Super Rugby try. π
Commentator Sean Maloney was just as stunned as the spectators, exclaiming, “Whatβs happening here?!” After a TMO check confirmed all was legal and clean, Maloney dubbed it “the most unlikely try we’ve seen all weekend long.”
Even former rugby star Justin Marshall couldnβt hide his amazement, admitting he’d never seen anything like it in his life! “What was Droasese thinking?!” Marshall mused, pointing out Droasese’s chance to simply opt for a safe dropout.
Whether it was a moment of pure innovative genius or a monumental mistake, one thing’s for sure: this try will be talked about for years to come. Who else was on the edge of their seat for that one? ππ½
