🏃♂️✨ Meet Jeff Aston from Cardiff, who’s defying age and setting records at 79! He’s one of only six people globally to have run every single London Marathon since it kicked off in 1981! This Sunday, Jeff is lacing up once again, showing us that passion only grows stronger with time. 🏅

Jeff’s running journey began unexpectedly in late 1979 when his local squash courts flooded. Instead of sitting on the sidelines, he decided to hit the ground running—literally! He recalls, “The courts would take months to repair, so I started running around the recreation ground.”
His best performance was in 1983, clocking in at an impressive 2:29! Although his times have evolved, Jeff’s determination remains steady. He shares, “I know it’s going to be difficult. I know that all I have got to do is finish it.”

Even during the pandemic in 2020, Jeff’s marathon spirit couldn’t be dampened—he completed a virtual marathon around Whitchurch instead! 💪
His fellow running club mate and BBC newsreader Peter Gillibrand recently shared on Instagram, “At 79, Jeff goes again as one of six ‘ever presents.’ He’s an inspiration to younger runners, and we’re so proud of him.”
Here’s to Jeff Aston, embodying the spirit of resilience and inspiring us all with his unwavering commitment! 🥳🏃♂️🎉 Let’s cheer him on as he takes on the London Marathon once more! ❤️ #Inspiration #LondonMarathon #RunningLegend #AgeIsJustANumber
