World Record Alert at the London Marathon! πββοΈπ¬π§

Kenyan sensation Sabastian Sawe just did the unthinkable at the London Marathon, smashing the marathon world record with a jaw-dropping time of 1:59:30! π Not only has Sawe made history by becoming the first person to finish a marathon under two hours in race conditions, but he also shaved nearly two minutes off his previous winning time from last year. Incredible!

It was a nail-biter as Sawe battled it out with Ethiopiaβs Yomif Kejelcha. Both runners crossed the finish line in under two hours, with Kejelcha setting the second-fastest time ever.
The atmosphere was electric, and even BBC commentator and Olympic silver medallist Steve Cram was speechless, declaring the achievement as “history in the making.” Others compared it to the legendary four-minute mile. π
But that’s not all! Sawe’s victory also came with a hefty prize. Aside from the usual Β£41,000 for coming first in the elite men’s race, his record-breaking feat earned him an additional Β£111,000, taking his total winnings to over Β£150,000! π·π°
Paula Radcliffe echoed the sentiment, saying that Sawe’s remarkable feat will “reverberate around the world.”
What a day for athletics! π Who else is in awe of this incredible milestone?
