🚨 Heartbreaking News from Briery Hill Llamas 🚨

Lisa Fox, the devoted owner of Briery Hill Llamas in the Forest of Dean, is facing a devastating crisis. Eight of her beloved llamas have been culled due to a TB outbreak, and 27 more are now in isolation. The farm has been forced to shut down most of its 2026 activities, leaving Lisa and her family in a difficult situation. 🦙💔
The trouble began when Stardust, one of the llamas, fell ill and a post-mortem confirmed TB, sparking widespread testing. Shockingly, seven more llamas tested positive, leading to the heartbreaking decision to put them down. Lisa remarks, “As a family, we are devastated… it’s like living a nightmare.” 🌧️

Financially, the farm is reeling. Not only has it lost its primary income source—llama trekking and therapy experiences—but the vet bills have been sky-high, reaching nearly £15,000 for Stardust alone. While compensation is available, it doesn’t cover all costs, leaving significant financial strain. 😥

Efforts have been made to contain the disease, including borrowing funds for electric fencing. Despite these measures, Lisa is concerned about the remaining llamas and the long testing process they have to endure. The lingering uncertainty and inability to operate the business are taking an emotional toll on the family.
A GoFundMe page has been set up to help with feeding costs and vet bills while the farm’s activities are on hold. So far, they’ve raised over £6,500. Lisa, who has found joy through her llamas and shared it with others, faces yet another battle with little support.
Let’s show our love and support during this challenging time. 🥺
