🏃♀️ Keely Hodgkinson, the 800m sensation and fastest British woman in the history of the event, had a playful jab at her teammate Georgia Hunter Bell, calling her a “b***h” in jest after an intense showdown at the 2025 World Athletics Championships. Just missing out on silver by a whisker, Hodgkinson looked back on that race with laughter, showing the fun side of fierce competition.

After taking home Olympic silver in Tokyo and then capturing gold in Paris 2024, Hodgkinson faced a tough race in Tokyo 2025. She and her fellow Brit, Hunter Bell, both trailed behind the champion Lilian Odira. In a thrilling dash for second, Bell edged out Hodgkinson by just a hair.

Reflecting on the race, Hodgkinson admitted, “My legs were done for. That is the closest I’ve come to falling over. It’s just one of those things.” Even in the face of fierce rivalry, friendship shone bright, with Hunter Bell acknowledging the competitive spirit: “It’s racing. When we step on the start line we all want to win.”
But Hodgkinson hasn’t let that race slow her down. This year, she smashed the world indoor record over 800m and recently claimed gold at the World Indoor Championships in Poland, leaving the competition a second behind!
Now, she’s aiming high with an eye on the outdoor world record. Known for being fearless in setting goals, Hodgkinson shared, “I’m pretty close [to the world record], I would like to think. I have seen this year what my body is capable of and I’m excited to push on.”
With immense talent and determination, she’s on track for greatness, all while keeping her competitive spirit alive and kicking. What do you make of her journey? 🏅 #GoKeely #TeamGB #AthleticsChampion
