🎉 Double Delight for Airbus UK Broughton! 🎉
Airbus has done it again, clinching the Welsh Blood Service League Cup for the second year in a row! 🏆⚽️ Mark Allen, the proud boss of the Wingmakers, celebrated his team’s stellar performance as they defeated Treowen Stars 2-0 in a thrilling final at Newtown’s Latham Park.
Last year, they triumphed over Trefelin with a 3-2 victory, and this year, they’ve made sure the trophy remains in North Wales. This win adds to their recent promotion back to the JD Cymru Premier, after a remarkable season that saw them net a league-high 93 goals and win 14 of their last 15 Cymru North matches.
The final match was no less exciting, with Airbus taking control as George Peers converted a penalty right before half-time. James Davies sealed the deal with a second goal in the 76th minute. Despite tricky conditions and a valiant effort from Treowen, the Wingmakers showed their mettle on the pitch.
Mark Allen praised his team, saying, “There were difficult conditions and I was very proud of the way the boys played. Treowen made the game difficult for us, but we controlled the game for the whole 90 minutes. Winning it two years in a row was a great feeling.”
What an incredible climax to a standout season for Airbus! 🙌
