🎱 Drama at the Crucible! Mark Selby, known as the ‘Jester from Leicester,’ wasn’t laughing after being knocked out of the World Snooker Championship by rising Chinese star Wu Yize. Despite a valiant effort to bounce back, Selby bowed out with a 13-11 defeat in the round of 16.

While Selby praised his young rival’s game, he certainly wasn’t impressed with the playing conditions. “I felt the conditions were atrocious really,” he said, voicing frustration over the table quality and its impact on both his matches at the Crucible. “The cushions were bouncing, and the table didn’t play any better after it was re-covered,” he added.

The snooker ace admitted he wasn’t at his best, missing crucial shots amidst tough competition. Yet, he refused to solely blame the set-up, acknowledging errors on his part as Wu clinched his spot in the quarter-finals.
