🎱 Snooker fans, brace yourselves for a story that’ll make you chuckle! 😄 In a nail-biting clash at the World Championship, Hossein Vafaei stunned everyone by defeating world no.1 Judd Trump with a nail-biting 13-12 victory! Talk about an upset! As he chatted with BBC legends Steve Davis and Joe Perry post-match, his witty comments had the whole studio in stitches.
After sealing his dramatic win with a 91 break in the final frame, Vafaei was asked whether it was the greatest win of his career. With a huge grin, he admitted, “Exactly, against the world no.1 Judd Trump. He’s such a tough opponent, and today I played better!” But the real highlight was when he joked, “I’m not going to talk about it in front of these guys; it’s better to shut my mouth and listen to them!” Cue the laughter!
Dubbed the “Prince of Persia,” Vafaei is known for his high-scoring play and candid personality. Discussing his mindset, he charmingly confessed, “It’s better to sometimes shut your mouth and let the game come out,” drawing more laughs from Davis and Perry. 🗣️😂
Trump was left reflecting on the missed opportunities, admitting the loss was disappointing but still warmly embraced Vafaei, encouraging him to believe in himself more. A true sportsman!
With this victory, Vafaei has carved his path to the quarter-finals for the first time. Is this just the beginning of his journey to snooker greatness? Stay tuned! 🎱🏆
