Nigel Farage Urges Arron Banks to Apologize for Controversial Social Media Post

Nigel Farage has suggested that Arron Banks, a member of Reform UK, should apologise for what he’s calling a ‘poor taste’ post on social media. The controversy started after Plaid Cymru shared a campaign video featuring Bashy, a Cardiff community organiser, in which he encouraged voters to choose between “hope or division” in the upcoming Senedd election.

Arron Banks responded to the video with a caption that sparked backlash: “Welsh lad?” Despite the uproar, the post remains online. Farage commented on the situation, suggesting that people often make unwise social media posts after a few drinks. Though he hinted that Banks should apologise, he doubted it would happen, saying, “Yeah, he won’t – he’s Arron Banks.”

Dan Thomas, the Reform leader in Wales, refused to condemn Banks’ remarks when asked during a BBC Wales debate. Instead, he addressed his own experiences of having his Welsh identity questioned, saying, “I’ll take no lessons from Plaid Cymru and their Welsh nationalist extremist.”
