The Bwlch Mountain in Rhondda Cynon Taf also saw multiple fires. Fire crews responded twice on Wednesday, with strong winds and tough terrain making things difficult. Unfortunately, more than 50 hectares of beautiful landscape have been destroyed. 🚒

Our firefighters teamed up with the police, Natural Resources Wales, and local authorities to tackle the flames using water bowsers, beaters, and more.

Natural Resources Wales warns us all to act responsibly. With warm, dry weather increasing wildfire risks, even a tiny mistake can lead to a raging inferno. “Wales’ landscapes are incredibly special, but they’re also vulnerable,” says duty tactical manager Richard Preece.
