A man was caught with over £20,000 in drugs, claiming he was under pressure from others and battling his own addiction. Jack Treece, 28, was found by police in Porthcawl acting suspiciously. Under an orthopedic boot, officers discovered cocaine. A further search of his home revealed more cocaine, cannabis, and ketamine, along with drug equipment and a video of cannabis in a black bag.

Treece admitted to having 63.48g of cocaine, 559.24g of ketamine, and a staggering 2.628kg of cannabis. He said he was forced into dealing drugs to support his addiction. Despite no prior convictions and difficulties stemming from childhood and drug addiction, he faced serious charges.

During his sentencing at Newport Crown Court, his defence revealed Treece’s struggle with addiction linked to his troubled upbringing, and his connection with his young child. Judge Matthew Porter-Bryant, considering the new sentencing guidelines, opted for a suspended sentence. Treece received a 36-month prison term, suspended for three years, along with 220 hours of unpaid work.
