🔥 Pembrokeshire Wildfire Update: What’s Happening? 🔥

On Thursday night, April 30th, crews from Fishguard, St David’s, Haverfordwest, and Milford Haven Fire Stations sprang into action to battle a significant wildfire that broke out at Harbour Village in Goodwick. Two acres of grass and scrubland were engulfed in flames, but our dedicated firefighters were on the scene using hose reel jets, wildfire blowers, and knapsacks to bring it under control. Crews worked tirelessly and wrapped up around 11:50pm. 🚒

But it’s not just Pembrokeshire facing fiery challenges. Port Talbot’s dealing with a commercial waste fire involving 200 tonnes, and further up north, a section of the A470 in Powys was temporarily closed due to a nearby blaze. Even the Bwlch Mountain in Rhondda Cynon Taf saw multiple fires, destroying over 50 hectares of land. It’s been a hectic time for firefighters across Wales! 🌍
Safety First! If you’re in areas affected by these fires, please keep these tips in mind:
1. Keep windows and doors shut to avoid smoke.
2. Steer clear of affected zones.
3. Hold off on walking and outdoor activities, including popular spots like Pen y Fan.
