Ryan Reynolds, co-owner of Wrexham FC, shared his heartfelt reaction after the team’s nail-biting end to the Championship season. Despite a valiant effort, Wrexham missed out on the play-offs on the final day, drawing 2-2 with Middlesbrough. The Reds put up a good fight—goals from Josh Windass and Sam Smith saw them leading, but a late equaliser from Boro sealed their fate, leaving them in seventh place, just two points shy of the play-offs.

Ryan expressed his disappointment on social media, saying, “I am completely gutted by today’s result but incredibly proud of our season. We’ve come a long way in five years, and this was the best result in our 150+ year history.” Indeed, moving up from League One to fighting for a Premier League spot in your first Championship season is a feat worth celebrating!

Ryan and co-owner Rob McElhenney took over the club in 2021, back when Wrexham were in the National League. Since then, it’s been a whirlwind journey, with three successive promotions lifting Wrexham through the leagues. While this season didn’t end with promotion, the progress and spirit shown by the team have set the stage for another thrilling campaign next year.

As pre-season preparations kick off, Wrexham fans can look forward to exciting fixtures against Liverpool, Leeds United, and Sunderland. Here’s to aiming even higher next season with the Dragons!
