🚙🌊 Luxury Land Rover Takes an Unintended Swim in Abersoch! 🌊🚙

Imagine a tranquil Sunday morning by the sea in Abersoch, only to stumble across a sight that’ll make anyone do a double-take: a luxury Land Rover Discovery slowly disappearing beneath the waves! Yeah, it happened.

Early morning dog walkers spotted the SUV, wheels still visible and a tow rope attached, but it was too late. Despite the calm seas, the tide came in, turning the beach into a “Gone in 60 Seconds” scene but in slow motion.
Wondering how on earth it ended up in the drink? Locals reckon it was in a spot of bother trying to pull a boat trailer or jet ski. For those unfamiliar with Abersoch, it’s a chic hideaway dubbed “Cheshire-by-the-Sea”, popular with tourists and second-home owners who love its golden sands and stunning views of Tremadog Bay.
The photo circulating online had some folks thinking it was a prank. But nope, it’s all real. Paddleboarders are even venturing over what’s now an underwater attraction! 🙈
Funnily enough, this isn’t the first time a vehicle has misjudged the Welsh tides. Beachgoers shared stories of similar mishaps, with one local recalling his own blunder 30 years ago! It’s a classic case of underestimating Mother Nature and the sandy terrain. “Not the first and it won’t be the last,” said a social media user, capturing the essence of this coastal conundrum.
At roughly £80,000 a pop for new models, the Discovery’s off-road rep took a salty knock. While it boasts rugged capabilities, it’s clear the sea has its own rules! 🤷♂️
Amongst the ribbing—a few “can’t park there” laughs and “Chelsea tractor” nods—there was also sympathy for the unlucky owner facing this soggy situation. One online commenter said, “Sad to see things go wrong. That car’s had a pricey weekend!”
So, if you’re planning a seaside adventure with your wheels, remember: tides and sand shifts don’t play favourites. Stay savvy out there!
