🎶 Celebrating 60 Glorious Years of Song! 🎶

Wandering into a rehearsal with the Cardiff Arms Park Male Voice Choir is like stepping into a world where tradition meets today. Imagine the rich tones of Welsh classics like “Cwm Rhondda” mingling with hits from The Beatles and Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.” This choir is more than just voices; it’s a vibrant part of our Welsh heritage.
Traditions are treasured, yet evolution is key. Chairman Clive Jones, a member for 18 years, emphasises, “We’ve got great energy and enthusiasm, perfect for keeping the momentum and inviting new voices.”

During lockdown, they didn’t miss a beat, connecting over Zoom and ensuring their chorus remained robust. Now, with nearly 90 singers strong, the camaraderie is as infectious as their harmonies.
🕺 Former Cardiff player Joe Morris shares a laugh-worthy tale from his first audition — serenading the wrong room! It’s the humour and warmth that solidify bonds here.
And it’s more than music; it’s family. Mike Jenkins calls it a “second home,” with support extending beyond rehearsals and performances. They’re there in the good times, and the tough, giving each other a hearty send-off at life’s end.

Guided by conductor Ieuan Jones, the choir’s sound continues to soar. From emotional performances at the Menin Gate to dreams of more global gigs, they carry the spirit of a “rugby club of choirs.”
The choir’s heart lies in safeguarding this cherished Welsh tradition, ensuring its resonance with future generations. As long as there are voices ready to sing — from age-old hymns to modern tunes — the music of Wales will live on. And within Cardiff Arms Park, it will always find a home. 🏴
Here’s to another 60 years of harmony and history! 🌟
