1. **Ceredigion Penfro**: All eyes are on this constituency as First Minister Eluned Morgan fights to retain her seat for Labour. Pollsters hint at a possible upset, suggesting she could lose, sparking a potential leadership battle. Meanwhile, Elin Jones from Plaid Cymru aims for her seventh consecutive term.
2. **Caerdydd Penarth**: Covering parts of Cardiff, this seat is highly contested with Labour, Plaid Cymru, Reform UK, and the Greens vying for victory. Labour’s Huw Thomas and Green Party leader Anthony Slaughter are among the top contenders, with hopes for the Greens to secure their first-ever Senedd seats.
3. **Sir Gaerfyrddin**: A fierce battle among Plaid Cymru members, including Cefin Campbell, Nerys Evans, and former leader Adam Price. The stakes are high as polls suggest Plaid Cymru could potentially capture four out of the six seats available.
4. **Bangor Conwy Môn**: A dynamic mix of political forces, Plaid Cymru leader Rhun ap Iowerth, Reform UK’s deputy leader Helen Jenner, and veteran Conservative Janet Finch-Saunders are all eyeing this seat. A special mention to Sir Grumpus L Shorticus from the Monster Raving Loony party—who could add a dash of surprise to the results!
5. **Casnewydd Islwyn**: This Newport constituency features Reform UK leader Dan Thomas’s bid for a Senedd seat.
