🚨 Scary times in Neath Port Talbot! A mum and her teenage daughter had a terrifying wake-up call when their home in Glynneath was hit by an alleged arson attack. Joanne Parker recounts the heart-stopping moment she had to flee with her daughter and pets as black smoke filled their house.

🕒 It all went down around 3am when neighbours were startled by the sound of smashing glass. As they rushed to help, they found Joanne’s living room ablaze. Thanks to their quick thinking and the fast response from fire crews, the fire was contained, but the damage was severe. Joanne describes the ordeal saying, “Everything’s gone… the living room is completely destroyed.”
💔 Not only did the fire burn through the house, but it also left its mark on Joanne’s mental health. Recovering from PTSD, this incident has been deeply affecting. “We’ve lost so much. It’s been so traumatic,” she shared. Her daughter’s autistic and needs the comfort of a stable home, making the situation even more challenging.

🙏 The community has come together to help, setting up a GoFundMe page, which has already raised £596 to support Joanne and her daughter as they try to rebuild their lives.
👮♀️ South Wales Police are on the case, with an investigation ongoing to find those responsible for this devastating act. If you have any information, reach out to the police on 101, quoting the reference number 2600134506.
