🎉 Big news for Cardiff Rugby fans! 🎉
We’re thrilled to announce a major signing for the Blue & Blacks as the legendary Wallaby, Scott Sio, joins from Exeter Chiefs. This powerhouse loosehead brings a wealth of experience with 74 caps for Australia and an impressive stint with the ACT Brumbies.
Sio is swapping life at Sandy Park for the vibrant Welsh capital, ready to don the Cardiff jersey for the 2026/27 season. He’ll be competing for a spot in the starting XV and mentoring young talents like Rhys Barratt and Danny Southworth. 🏉
Scott shared his excitement about the move: “Cardiff has such a rich history with many world-class players. I’m eager to grow as a player and help the club achieve its aspirations on and off the field.”
Head coach Corniel van Zyl is equally delighted, citing Sio’s durability and talents in set-pieces as key assets. Sio’s leadership and experience will undoubtedly boost our squad as we continue our quest for URC play-offs.
Welcome to Cardiff, Scott! We can’t wait to see you in action and meet our passionate fans. Let’s make this season unforgettable! 🔵⚫
Stay tuned for more updates and be ready to cheer on our newest Blue & Black!
