Six weeks of campaigning, and what have we got? Pretty much the same numbers we started with! 🤷‍♂️ The 2026 Senedd election was meant to be game-changing, and yet, here we are—as confused as ever.

Labour kicked things off in Newport Market, promising big changes and new hospitals. But with polls stuck at 13%, it seems like the same old story. Even Eluned Morgan’s passionate efforts didn’t shake things up!

Meanwhile, Reform UK was busy vibing their way through drama that would wreck most parties. Coal mines and culture wars, but no poll movement.

Plaid Cymru entered strong and still holds its ground—just tied with Reform, not quite the lead they hoped for. Rhun ap Iorwerth’s charisma kept them afloat, even if a bit of backtracking on policies caused a few hiccups.
The Conservatives launched early but ultimately struggled to convince voters they could ‘Fix Wales.’ With polling suggesting they might not have enough seats to make a group, it’s a tough gig.
Liberal Democrats were the underdogs, valiantly pushing for social care funding, while the Greens quietly surged into potential kingmaker territory. Their increase was driven more by a youthful vibe check than campaign shakes.
So why didn’t things change? Because this election’s drama has been brewing for years. The shifts we’re seeing were set in motion long before party leaders took the stage. Realignment, UK trends, and a Gen Z buzz paint a new Welsh political landscape.
Whatever the outcome, this campaign wasn’t so much a decider as a reminder that UK-style politics might not fit our new multi-party reality. Onward to the results! 🗳️✨#SeneddElection2026 #UnChanged
