Exciting times for Welsh rugby! π The legendary Dan Lydiate is set to join the national team’s coaching squad full-time! After making waves last season, Dan will now focus on enhancing the defensive contact skills of our players. π

Having just retired, the former Six Nations Player of the Year has already made a significant impact at the club level, and now he’s bringing that expertise to our national team. π Having worked with Wales temporarily over the last few seasons, Dan’s rapid rise in coaching is both impressive and inspiring.

βIβm thrilled to take on this new full-time role with Wales,” shares Lydiate. “Working closely with Steve Tandy and the team is an incredible honour, and I’m eager to help develop talent both at camps and beyond.β
Steve Tandy is just as excited, praising Dan’s natural coaching style and his passion for improving the mindset of the squad. Dan’s partnership with the new defence coach, Peter Murchie, is anticipated to bring great synergy to the group. π€
From player to coach, Dan’s journey is a testament to his dedication and love for the game. While we’re sad to see him leave the Dragons, we’re thrilled about what this means for Welsh rugby on a larger scale. π
Filo Tiatia, Dragons’ head coach, reflects on Danβs legacy at the club, saying, βHeβs truly a top man, and his commitment to both senior players and budding talent has been invaluable. We wish him all the best with the national team and know our fans will continue to cheer for him.β
Wales is certainly lucky to have such a talent on board. Here’s to new beginnings and exciting prospects on the horizon! π #WelshRugby #DanLydiate #CoachingSuccess
