We say goodbye to a true Swansea icon, Robert Francis-Davies, who has sadly passed away after a short illness. Known for his unwavering dedication, Robert was Swansea’s longest-serving councillor, having represented Morriston since 1983. A dynamic figure in local governance, he held numerous roles, including Lord Mayor back in 2001-02.

Council leader Rob Stewart remembers him as “a true Swansea legend and an absolute force of nature.” His devotion to the city brought significant developments like the Swansea.com stadium and the National Waterfront Museum. Let’s not forget his role in making events like Proms in the Park and the Wales Airshow part of Swansea’s vibrant cultural scene.
Robert’s passing leaves a significant gap in our community. His profound impact and love for Swansea and its people will be felt for years to come. Our thoughts are with Suzanne, Rebecca, Andrew, Rachel, and the entire Francis-Davies family.

Thank you, Robert, for everything you’ve done for Swansea. ❤️ Your legacy continues to inspire us all.
