🌟 First time at Toby Carvery: What’s the fuss about? 🌟

So, after years of driving past my local Toby Carvery, I finally gave it a go this Sunday—and all for just £16.99! 🤑 Known for its iconic carvery spread, it didn’t disappoint, though a thought lingered: would anyone enjoy this much any other day of the week? 🤔

This place is a staple in the UK, a bit like the old Little Chef and Harvester. The vibe was clean and cosy, perfect for a family get-together, and our host was super accommodating, even as our large party grew unexpectedly.
Let’s talk food! As you queue (don’t worry, it moves fast), you’re faced with a feast of up to five meats, including lamb and turkey, which I went for. Then there’s an abundance of veggies: crispy parsnips, rich roast potatoes, carrots, and more. While I wasn’t blown away by everything (sorry, soggy Yorkshire pudding), it was decent, hearty fare.
We had an efficient drink service and a good variety of beers for the grown-ups and soft drinks for the little ones. Kids can enjoy a mini carvery plus a sundae for £7.99—good deal, right?🍦
Despite a few grumbles, the overall experience was enjoyable, and the price felt fair for what you get. The relaxing atmosphere means there’s no stress about the kids being a bit noisy, unlike your usual gastropub.
In the end, my main question was: why hadn’t I visited sooner? I might just be popping back for another round. Who’s coming with me? 🍽️🥳
Would you give Toby Carvery a try, or are you already a fan? Let me know your thoughts in the comments! 👇😊
