With repatriation in motion, each passenger is undergoing testing. Those cleared from any viral symptoms are being swiftly moved onto a special flight home, fully equipped with medical professionals and protective gear.

World Health Organisation Director-General Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus confirmed: “The disembarkment process of MV Hondius passengers is underway. Our experts are closely collaborating with the Spanish Health Ministry.”

Upon reaching the UK, these passengers will be safely housed at Arrowe Park, away from the main hospital areas, ensuring everyone else’s safety. The NHS says it’s all systems go as usual, assuring locals there’s no threat to the public.

After their quarantine, health experts will decide if individuals can return home to isolate or if alternative settings are required. The plan currently prohibits using public transport to ensure utmost caution.

On the global front, the WHO revealed that six confirmed cases had links to the ship, with three fatalities. Amongst those, three Brits are affected, two confirmed and one suspected case.

In a remarkable rescue effort, the British military parachuted medical teams onto the remote island of Tristan da Cunha to support one of the suspected British cases living there.

Authorities assure that the risk to the public is kept low and remind everyone to keep calm and stay informed. Stay safe, folks! 🇬🇧
