Remembering Andrew ‘Buzz’ Edwards: Tributes pour in after a tragic crash claimed the life of a beloved 44-year-old on the A472 Hafodyrynys. Sadly, on the afternoon of May 4, Buzz was pronounced dead at the scene after his motorbike was involved in a collision.

Buzz was more than just a family member or friend; he was the embodiment of joy and laughter. Known for lighting up any room with his infectious smile and love for life, he touched everyone lucky enough to meet him. A dedicated son, partner, brother, stepdad, and grandad, his passion for family, fast cars, delicious food, and thrilling holidays was evident in every moment he spent with his loved ones. Recently, he had discovered a special passion for his motorbike, embracing it with the same zest he applied to everything in life.
His family shared touching memories, speaking of Andrew as the “life and soul of every party”, and highlighting how his kindness resonated deeply with all who crossed his path. Amid the sorrow, they remember his mantra, “We’re here for a good time, not a long time,” a sentiment Buzz truly lived by, spreading positivity to all.

Friend Daniel Brook described Buzz as someone you could always rely on. “He had a knack for cheering people up, even on the toughest days,” he said. “Buzz believed in seizing the moment and cherished bringing joy to strangers and friends alike.”
To honour Buzz’s memory, a GoFundMe page has been set up, raising over £5,000 to date. It’s a testament to how deeply he was loved and how greatly he will be missed. His legacy will continue to inspire those who knew him to live life with courage, passion, and an ever-present smile.
Gwent Police are appealing for any witnesses or those with dashcam footage from the A472 on May 4 between 2pm and 2.40pm to come forward.

Buzz’s departure has left an irreplaceable void, but his extraordinary spirit and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of many. ❤️
