🏉 Big news for Wales Rugby fans! Head coach Steve Tandy has revealed a colossal 48-man squad for the summer’s Nations Championship. Notably, there’s a fresh influx of talent with six uncapped players stepping into the spotlight. 🌟
Who’s making waves? Cardiff’s Rhys Barratt, Ospreys’ Ben Warren, Exeter Chiefs’ Kane James, Dragons’ Harrison Keddie and Ryan Woodman, and Harlequins’ Bryn Bradley are all newcomers eager to make an impact. Though both Warren and Woodman have had a taste of the setup before, this is a first full call-up for others. Exciting times ahead! 👏
The squad, brimming with talent, heads to San Juan and Durban after an enticing uncapped face-off against the Barbarians at Twickenham in June. Following this, they’ll challenge the likes of Fiji, Argentina, and South Africa in July. 🏟️
Familiar faces like Jac Morgan, Max Llewellyn, and Teddy Williams are back in action, while Leicester star Tommy Reffell gets his inaugural call-up. Unfortunately, tighthead props Tomas Francis and Archie Griffin will miss the action this summer due to a break and surgery, respectively. 🤕
🏉 New Beginnings: Exeter’s back-rower James, who previously donned the England U20 jersey, has committed to Wales, adding a fascinating twist to this summer saga. Meanwhile, Harlequins’ Bryn Bradley, eligible through his Newport-born mother, is also set for his first cap after proving himself in the Gallagher Premiership. 🌹🔄
In a twist, while some players celebrate, others aren’t so lucky. Missing out this time are the likes of Angus O’Brien and Rio Dyer. Instead, returning to the fold after a stint away is Dillon Lewis, ready to charge since his last appearance in the Six Nations two years ago. 🇼🇸
The full squad has contributions from all corners of the UK, with Cardiff leading in numbers, and a strong complement from English clubs strengthening the lineup. Soon, they’ll join camp and start gearing up for a demanding and thrilling summer of rugby. 🎽
