Construction Worker’s Inappropriate Video Message to Homeowners’ Spouse Raises Concerns

A disturbing story from Swansea Crown Court: a builder working on a couple’s home has been labelled a “predator” by the victim after sending her inappropriate messages and a sick video. Wayne Morgan, 54, from Ebbw Vale, crossed the line with texts calling the woman “sexy” and “babe” before sending a shocking video featuring his new watch in a very inappropriate manner. Despite the woman’s protests, Morgan continued his unacceptable behaviour, even exposing himself when she brought him coffee. His actions left her feeling anxious and worried, prompting her to report the incident to his employer, which led to his removal from the job.

Morgan was convicted of exposure and sending an obscene video, with Judge Huw Rees describing his conduct as “pathetic.” The court heard that Morgan has a history of offences, though none of a similar nature. He blamed his actions on heavy drinking, and through his lawyer, expressed a desire to apologise to the victim and the court. The judge sentenced him to an 18-month community order, mandating a rehabilitation course and 150 hours of unpaid work. He also has an alcohol treatment requirement and will be registered as a sex offender for the next five years.
