🚨 Big news for Scarlets fans! 🚨
The Scarlets have made a major move, signing Leinster’s talented hooker, John McKee! 🏉💥 After a tough season and the loss of Springboks star Marnus van der Merwe to Munster, the Scarlets are seizing the opportunity to strengthen their squad. McKee, at just 26, already boasts an impressive career with 46 appearances and five tries for the reigning United Rugby Championship champs.
Coming from the competitive Leinster environment, McKee’s excited to join the Scarlets and dive into the passionate rugby culture. “From my first call with Nigel, Dwayne and Cubby, the passion they have for the club really struck me,” he said. He’s ready to embrace this fresh start and can’t wait to connect with the fans who’ve left a strong impression on him.
He remembers being inspired by the Scarlets’ supporters when he was with Leinster: “The fans got behind the side, and how passionate they were really stood out for me.” Now, he’s eager to be part of this passionate club and help drive them forward in the upcoming season.
McKee will be vying for the number two shirt alongside Welsh international Ryan Elias, adding some exciting competition to the squad! With the signings of Wales prop Corey Domachowski and the promising Harvey Cuckson from Bath, the Scarlets are shaping a formidable team for the future. 🌟✍️
Interim director of rugby Nigel Davies said, “John fits exactly the type of profile we want. He’s physical, competitive, and hungry to grow his game here. We want players who are ambitious and excited about where this group is heading.”
The Scarlets are building genuine competition across the squad to drive standards and boost performances. Welcome to West Wales, John McKee! 🔥🔴
