A routine investigation led police to a shocking discovery in Neath! Chad White, a family man, was living a double life as a Range Rover-driving cocaine dealer. It all started when the police found out where he was topping up his drug phone.
During a house raid, officers unearthed thousands in cash and a stash of cocaine cleverly hidden behind White’s bed and inside designer boots. Swansea Crown Court heard that this 34-year-old had been raking in “significant sums of money” from his illegal activities.
The investigation kicked off when police examined a seized phone, which revealed an exchange of drug-related messages. The trail led them to a Premier Store in Neath, where they caught White on CCTV topping up his phone and leaving in his flashy SUV. His vehicle, a Range Rover Evoque, was later tracked through police databases, leading to his arrest on March 3rd.
At the time of his arrest, White was found with £180 in cash. A search of his home unveiled over 80g of cocaine in Timberland boots, alongside scales and snap-seal bags, £5,150 in cash behind a bed’s headboard, and another £990 stashed in trainers on his wardrobe.
White, from Fairyland, Neath, already had a history of drug offences but had tried maintaining a facade of normalcy, citing less work at the steelworks as a reason for his descent into drug dealing. He admitted to drug possession with intent to supply, being concerned in the supply of cocaine, and possession of criminal property.
Judge Geraint Walters wasn’t having any of it, describing the trade in Class A drugs as a societal scourge. White was sentenced to three years behind bars, with an investigation into his finances now underway to seize any criminal assets.
