A Swansea dad with a 12-week-old baby dodged prison after police uncovered his life as a drug dealer. Ben Thomas, caught by undercover officers, was suspected of dangerous driving, sparking a deeper investigation. What they found was shocking: the 28-year-old was dealing cocaine and cannabis.

Initially arrested for driving offences, Ben’s phones told a different story. He claimed others had been using his phone, but the evidence was clear. In court, his lawyer painted a picture of a troubled past, saying Ben turned to substances to cope with a rough childhood. Yet, he now seeks a new path for his young son.

The big break for Ben came thanks to a law change, allowing his sentence to be suspended. Instead of prison time, he’ll be doing 250 hours of community service, attending a rehabilitation course, and staying clear of alcohol for 90 days.

Despite the mistakes, Ben’s experience behind bars was a wake-up call. He’s committed to staying clean for his baby boy’s sake. Do you think everyone deserves a second chance, or does crime always demand time? Let us know your thoughts!
