A shocking incident unfolded in Altrincham, as a 15-year-old girl reported being forced into a vehicle by a knifeman in what authorities suspect was a random abduction. The harrowing ordeal lasted seven hours, with the girl being discovered unharmed but understandably shaken in a hotel car park in Knutsford, Cheshire.
It all began on May 18 around 6.45pm on Bradgate Road, Bowdon, when the teenager, walking alone, was reportedly abducted. Quick-thinking witnesses heard her screams and noted the vehicle’s registration plate, enabling the police to act swiftly. By the early hours of May 19, Cheshire Police located the vehicle at Cottons Hotel and Spa and arrested a 56-year-old man at the scene.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed the arrest and that the suspect, described as a white male, is in custody for further questioning. They believe the incident to be random, with no prior connection between the suspect and the teenager.
Reassuringly, authorities have stated there’s no wider threat to the public. The investigation continues, with detectives working hard to ensure justice. Specialist officers are providing support to the victim and her family during this challenging time. More updates to come as the story develops. Stay safe, everyone!
