“Embraced by Loved Ones with a Fearful Farewell, Certain of Impending Doom”

Lloyd Green, a 34-year-old from Cardiff, faced a gripping battle with addiction that nearly cost him his life. He shocked his family when he was drinking a litre of vodka and taking 80 painkillers daily, often donning disguises to fool pharmacies into supplying him with medications. His ordeal escalated after his time as a singer on cruise ships was cut short by the pandemic, leading to his habits spiralling out of control when he was stuck at home.

Despite the facade of ‘managing’ his addiction, Lloyd’s reality was frighteningly different. By February 2021, his health severely declined, culminating in a chilling warning from doctors that his kidney and liver were dangerously close to failure. It was then that his family was called, believing they would have to say their final goodbyes.
