π¨ Notorious Knifepoint Robber Sentenced π¨

Meet Daniel Thomas, a name that’s becoming all too familiar in Aberavon’s courts. With a staggering 73 offences to his name, Daniel’s latest escapades landed him a hefty prison sentence.

In just one week, this masked menace targeted two local corner shops, threatening staff with a knife and making off with hundreds of pounds. His first hit on March 18th saw him storm into CostCutter, snagging Β£500. Buoyed by this success, Daniel struck again a week later at Premier Store. This time, he upped the ante, physically manhandling staff and raking in up to Β£800.
Despite his callous crimes, Daniel claims he’s filled with “shame and remorse.” His barrister explained that he turned to crime out of “desperation,” dealing with personal loss and financial pressures. However, for the shop workers, the trauma remains, leaving them anxious and fearful.
The law caught up with Daniel after CCTV trackings led to his arrest, and a subsequent search showed his phone was at the scenes of the crimes. In a courtroom revelation, he pleaded guilty to attempted robbery, robbery, and possession of a weapon.
Recorder Simon Hughes didn’t mince words, pointing out Daniel’s chilling confidence from his “successful” heist and reminding him of his wasted life behind bars. With his guilty plea, Daniel was dealt a 56-month prison sentence, plus an additional 14 months on a previously suspended sentence. He’ll serve half of this in custody before being released on licence.
It’s a stern warning to those who think crime pays: actions have consequences, and for Daniel, itβs 70 months of serious time. π΅οΈββοΈπ #CrimeUpdate #JusticeServed #StaySafeUK
