Exciting news for Coedely! A proposal for 15 brand-new affordable homes is on the table, aimed at bringing a vibrant mix of housing options to Rhondda Cynon Taf. If approved, the development will feature a variety of one to three-bedroom homes, including houses, walk-up flats, and even a bungalow. It’s thoughtfully designed to support individuals and small families, cultivating a diverse and inclusive community.

Situated opposite the old Coedely Garage, the project plans to rework the junction off Ely Valley Road, improving access with a new road. The development will incorporate sustainable drainage systems, ample car parking, landscaped areas, and spaces for waste storage. Out of 23 parking spaces, two will be reserved for disabled parking. It’s all in the name of creating a community that’s not only accessible but also sustainable.
Developers Hopgrove Construction, in partnership with Trivallis, are overseeing the project. Hopgrove will orchestrate the build, with Trivallis set to take on the role of owner and manager as a housing association.

The site, currently a greenfield next to the main road connecting Rhondda to the M4 corridor, promises a perfect spot for this all-affordable housing project. With its lush surroundings of grassland and scrub, the location offers a serene setting while remaining conveniently accessible.
Looking forward to seeing how this development shapes the future of Coedely! What are your thoughts on the growing emphasis on affordable housing? Let us know! 🌟🏡
