Earlier, an altercation in a flat led to the physical fight spilling onto High Street. Passersby bravely stepped in to separate the two men, despite threats from Pridmore. Both Pridmore and Picton were injured and arrested when officers arrived. Picton refused to give a statement, fearing repercussions.

With 75 previous offences, including possession of weapons and assault, Pridmore’s criminal history paints him as a “habitual offender”. Despite moments of wanting change, he found himself back in court due to drug-related issues.

The judge described him as a “nuisance” but hoped Pridmore could turn his life around. After pleading guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm and possessing an offensive weapon, he’ll serve up to half his sentence in custody before release on licence.
