Get ready for a celestial treat this weekend as a rare ‘Blue Moon’ graces our skies! This special event is happening because it’s the second full moon in May, and it’s set to appear on Sunday, 31st May. The first, known as the ‘Flower Moon’, made its entrance earlier this month on May 1st.

Here’s what to know: although it’s called a “Blue Moon,” the moon won’t actually appear blue. This term just highlights the rarity of having two full moons in one calendar month—which happens only every two to three years!

You’ll want to mark your calendars and set your alarms for this one. The Blue Moon is expected to rise just after 10 p.m. on Sunday and will hang low in the southern sky until around 4:30 a.m. the next morning. For the best view, find an unobstructed spot facing the south-eastern horizon.

The moon reaches its full phase on Monday at about 9:45 a.m., but it’ll look stunning both Saturday and Sunday nights. So, grab a chair, make yourself a hot cuppa, and enjoy this rare and beautiful display from nature. Don’t miss out—nature’s not on repeat! 🌌🌕
