Before setting off, lower both windows on one side. Then, swing a door on the opposite side to ‘fan’ out that stifling air. It might look funny, but it’s worth it!
Now, here comes the magic button: Start your engine and set the air-con to its coldest. Make sure to switch to ‘external’ air (symbol with an arrow entering the car) instead of recirculation. Why? The air outside is cooler! And don’t forget to open all other windows, giving your air-con a few minutes to take charge.
Aim those air vents down to the footwells. This clever move will send the hot air upwards and out the windows. As your car cools, close the windows to keep the chill in.
