π₯ Explosive discovery in the garage! π

Imagine clearing out your nan’s garage and stumbling across unexploded WWI shells! That’s exactly what happened to George Cheetham in a village near Southampton. George was helping his nan, Pam, sort through his late grandad’s belongings when they found two anti-aircraft shells from 1916. ποΈ

Thankfully, George knew what to do. He promptly called the police, who roped in the army’s bomb squad to handle the situation safely. The shells turned out to be live, requiring a controlled explosion in a nearby field. George joked about wanting to keep them but admitted itβs better than having nan blown up! π
The story got quite the buzz online, with folks divided on whether George should’ve kept the historic find. While some saw the humour in it, others were shocked at the thought of “throwing away” family history. But George had his priorities straight β safety first! πͺ
Props to George for his quick thinking and for keeping his nan safe. Sometimes family heirlooms are better left unexploded! π
