Meet Mateo Allmunca, who got caught with his hands literally in the weed! When police raided a Llanelli flat, they uncovered a massive cannabis operation he was tending. The place was packed with 89 plants worth an eye-watering £82k. Yes, you read that right!
Mr Allmunca, an Albanian national, paid a shocking £20,000 to smugglers to get into the UK and was working off his debt in the cannabis trade. He claimed he was in Llanelli for the day, but police weren’t buying it, especially with a flat key found on him.
Despite no previous UK convictions, the judge noted Allmunca came over as an ‘economic migrant.’ Out of desperation, he traded life in Albania for greener pastures in the UK—quite literally.
Caught and sentenced to 24 months behind bars, he’ll serve just under half before he might face deportation. 🚔
