Tragic news from Sheffield: a night out turned into a nightmare for Shanice Brookes, a 30-year-old mum who was fatally shot outside a city-centre bar. Described by police as an “innocent bystander,” Shanice’s life was cut short during an altercation near the One Four One bar. Despite swift medical attention, she sadly passed away.

Jemele Rhone, also 30, has been charged with Shanice’s murder, as well as possession of a firearm and criminal property. In connection with the incident, Deiryen Dyce, 32, faces charges of assisting an offender, possession of ammunition, and drug-related offences. Another man arrested earlier has since been cleared of suspicion.
Detective Chief Inspector Andy Knowles highlighted the senseless nature of the crime, which leaves Shanice’s family, including her young son, grappling with an unimaginable loss. “Gun crime devastates communities and destroys families,” he said.
