Their story began when Rob, a non-runner from Bath, met Kate, a primary school teacher with a passion for parkruns. Little did he know that joining her on those Saturday morning runs would become a significant part of his life. Fast forward to now, they’ve conquered over 100 parkruns each and even embarked on parkrun tourism adventures.

On the morning of May 23, as 535 runners gathered for the Chepstow route, Rob and Kate stood out, surrounded by family and friends. They ran in style, adorned in wedding-themed gear, and were showered with cheers instead of rice. The parkrun community even formed a tunnel for them to run through—a truly memorable ‘I do’ to their running passion.

After the run, it was a quick change from trainers to wedding finery for their ceremony at St Mary’s Catholic Church in Chepstow. And yes, several parkrun buddies made it back to celebrate the nuptials!

Rob encourages other couples to consider incorporating their passions into their special day, saying, “It’s memorable and a reflection of who we are.” The adventurous pair are off to Cornwall for a minimoon, not forgetting their trainers as they’re set to hit the trails at the Eden Project.

Cheers to love, laughter, and a life full of runs! 🏃‍♂️🏃‍♀️💍
