Tragic Loss at Sea: Remembering Jack Walker 🌊💔

We’re saddened to share the passing of Jack Walker, a beloved fisherman from Manorbier. At just 35, Jack tragically lost his life last May after an accident off the Pembrokeshire coast. Known for his kindness and love for the sea, Jack’s foot became entangled in a rope, pulling him overboard. Despite wearing a lifejacket, the weight of the fishing gear held him underwater.

Jack’s career spanned 15 years, and he joined the Wilaya boat 10 months before the incident. An investigation highlighted safety oversights aboard the vessel, leading to changes in procedures to prevent future tragedies, including additional safety training for the skipper and revised operational methods.

Jack’s family speaks of their heartbreak, describing him as a loving son, father, and friend. They expressed gratitude towards those who supported them and shared their thoughts for Jack’s crewmates who were present that fateful day.
Let’s cherish the memories of Jack, who tragically left us doing what he loved most. 🌊 Our deepest condolences go to his family and loved ones.
Stay safe and remember to look out for one another on the water. 🌊🕊️
